ultra wide angle lens question?
ok im in the market for an ULTRA wide angle lens (the one that makes the picture fisheye and a circle). i am looking for a cheap lens atachment for under $60 that has that SUPER fish eye effect. when i was looking for this i found a couple that fit in the description. my question is what does the magnification part mean because there were ones like .75x to .42x. if i want a SUPER wide angle lens atachment, what one gets toe most fish eye effect?
Ultra wide angle lenses are designed NOT to show pincushion in the image. Fisheye lenses on the other hand will shoot with either exaggerated pincushion or provide an actual circular of image on the sensor ot film.
The fisheye I use on my P&S camera is an add-on 0.21x lens and can give me a true fisheye look (circle)
The 0.75x is barely a good wide angle, let a lone a fisheye and the 0.42x is perhaps a super wide angle adapter lens.
Look for the add-on lens with the smallest number and that will create the most fisheye effect.
Before you buy you will want to 1) make sure that the lens will fit the filter threads on your camera and is designed for your lens and 2) that it is the lens you really want. Mounting it on your lens will show you soon enough if the lens is preforming up to your expectations
