What lens would you recommend?
Hi, i am looking into buying a new lens for my four thirds E-420. As it stands i really don't know much about lenses and i really a beginner when it comes to choosing. My current lens i believe was a starter at 40-150mm (70-300 equivalent i think).
I do a lot of outdoors shooting, horses in particular. I am looking to upgrade my current to something a bit faster and with a little more reach. I was looking at Olympus's lens one up from the one i have now, the 70-300mm super telephoto but i am still not sure. this one is the cheapest in its range. I am aware that you can also purchase lenses of other brands to fit the four thirds system. I just don't know anything about them. What would you recommend? i don't really have a great budget, but i am willing to listen.
All answers are appreciated,
cheers.
Well the nice thing about four thirds is that it can be easily adapter to other lens mounts. If you don't mind using manual focus, there are some great values to be found.
As far as the 70-300, while I don't know much about the quality of the lens, it seems to be priced very well. Sigma I know does make some lens in the 4/3rds mount but they seem a bit expensive.
I probably would just get the Olympus and use the adapter for nice primes.
