Zoom Lens Recommendations for SLT-a55?
I just got an SLT-a55 camera with lens kit, 13-55mm. However, the zoom is insufficient. I am now looking for a zoom lens, and would like some recommendations.
Sorry about the 13/15 mistake, just got it. I am looking to shoot at the long end of normal range, or perhaps a little longer. The 55 just doesn't cut it.
I was looking at 3 lenses:
Tamron AF 55-200 F4-5.6 Di II A15
Tamron AF 70-300 F4-5.6 Di LD Macro A017
Sony AF DT 18-70 F3.5-5.6 SAL-1870
Are these any good?
One of the most prized Minolta Maxxum AF lens is the 70-210mm f4 "Beercan". On your A55 it will have an equivalent angle of view of a 105-315mm lens. There are currently about 40 listings on eBay. You can buy one in very good condition for well under $300.00.
I own and use the older manual focus version. The AF version has the same glass as mine.
When lens shopping for your A55 always remember that Minolta Maxxum AF lenses are 100% compatible with your camera.
