Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 Di LD Macro Zoom Lens for canon dslr?
is this just a normal macro zoom lens or is it some kind of... knock off of a macro lens like a macro extension tube or a macro filter? i know the brand is a knock off, but you know what i mean right? does it have the same quality of a canon macro lens or is it crap
Tamron is a fair brand. I own one of their lenses an 18-200 but it has issues so I rarely use it at all.
It shows aberrations at lower left when fully zoomed out and often has to hunt for focus. At times, it won't find focus at all I've ended up with several bad shots because of it.
I replaced it with this.

The glass and focus are much better with no aberrations at all. Yes it's a little more but very much worth the difference. This lens now "lives" on my camera.
